Tantric Sex: It Starts With You

Let’s start here—tantric sex isn’t really about your partner… at least not at first.

It’s about you. Your body. Your breath. Your awareness.

Before anything else, tantra invites you into a relationship with yourself. Not the version of you that’s performing, overthinking, or trying to “get it right”—but the version of you that can feel, notice, and be present.

And yes… that can feel a little uncomfortable at first.

Because slowing down means actually being with yourself. Feeling what’s there. Noticing your breath. Becoming aware of sensation in your body—without rushing past it.

But here’s where it gets interesting.

When you start to connect with yourself in this way, something shifts. You begin to understand what you like. What you don’t. What feels good. What feels like a no. What creates openness in your body—and what creates tension.

You start to trust yourself.

And that’s where empowerment begins.

Because when you know yourself, you can communicate yourself.

Tantric sex, in this sense, becomes less about “doing” something with someone else and more about sharing an experience. One where you’re present, aware, and connected to what’s happening in your body in real time.

And that changes everything.

You’re no longer guessing what your partner wants or ignoring your own needs. You’re able to express, respond, and connect from a place that feels real.

There’s more honesty. More clarity. More ease.

And yes—more pleasure, too.

Because pleasure isn’t something you chase. It’s something you allow.

Tantra simply creates the space for that to happen—first with yourself, and then with someone else.

So before anything else… start with you.

Your breath. Your body. Your experience.

That’s where it all begins.

If you’re ready to start connecting with yourself in this way…

I’ve created a few meditations to guide you into your body and your breath.
